IDOL is proud to announce that Lord Apex and his label E/M Worldwide have just joined the catalogue. Introducing this unique rapper with a laid-back flow and spacious breaks reminiscent of the best of the 90s.

It’s hard to sum up the discography of this prolific artist. Since his debut, he has released at least one project a year, as Crack magazine points out. Although it was with the track ‘Spliff in The Morning‘ released in 2016 then his Colors Session that propelled Lord Apex to the forefront of the international scene in 2019. The young rapper from White City, London, started out in 2013 under the name Tino Apex, taking inspiration from MF Doom, J Dilla and DJ Premier…

Since then, Lord Apex has continued to hone his style, inviting producers from both sides of the Atlantic to challenge him and help him step out of his comfort zone. “But I feel like it looks harder to other people. For me bro, if someone sent me a pack of eight beats today, and I liked all eight I’m sending him eight tracks back, thats just how I work.” Clash Magazine.

Over the years, Lord Apex has teamed up with producers such as The Kount for his SOIL EP, then with Walterwarm and V Don for a full album. He’s also experimented alongside rapper Finn Foxell, collaborated with Willie The Kid, Styles P, Da$h, A$ap Rocky, and everyone remembers I Need a Light‘ with Smoke DZA. It’s impossible to restrict him to a boom bap style, Lord Apex frees himself from codes and likes to surprise.

In 2020, Lord Apex was nominated for a UK Music Video Award in the Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Video Newcomer category for his video with KAM-BU. In 2021, he was announced as one of Complex’s 21 UK rappers to watch.

"I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank IDOL for believing in me... I know what I offer and can bring to your table that could be beneficial to both of us and I look forward to us doing more beautiful work in future." Lord Apex

Last year, Lord Apex released two albums, Joga Bonito with El Lif Beatz and Off the Strength with Cookin Soul (producer for Deen Burbigo, Orelsan and Wiz Khalifa). More recently, the rapper appears on the single ‘True Colours (Part 2) by Catching Flies with Erick The Architect. On Bandcamp, he also dropped The Elevated and Elusive, a compilation of tracks written over the last five years for his long-time fans. All in the space of a year…
