What did you do before joining IDOL?
Before joining IDOL, I was in a gap year where I was able to carry out two internships in cultural financing.
The first was as a credit analyst at the Institute for the Financing of Cinema and Cultural Industries, where I had the opportunity to discover different cultural sectors such as fashion, bookshops, cinema exhibitors, video games, music, etc.
The second was in the film industry, at Cinémage, where I was in charge of financing film projects in development or that had just started shooting.
What is your current job title?
I hold the position of Junior Management Controller, which basically involves helping to steer IDOL’s finances.
My main tasks focus on improving processes, tracking advances, sales and margins, and updating and restructuring IDOL’s financial projections – in other words, I spend all day on Excel!
In parallel, I’m doing my Master 2 in Finance and Strategy at SciencesPo Paris, the Institute of Political Studies.
What drew you to work with IDOL?
I’ve had the opportunity to explore several cultural sectors in my previous experiences, but I’ve always been passionate about music, so IDOL was a way for me to take my first step in the sector!
Can you share a personal anecdote or hobby that you’re particularly passionate about?
I’ve taken up yoga and pilates (rather sporadically over the last few months, I admit, but it’s enough to get your foot back in the stirrup, as they say), because it calms me down and I can do it at my own pace. It’s a really great sport and just what I needed after 13 years of ballet and a few climbing sessions like any real Parisian bobo… I re-discovered pilates and yoga recently thanks to a very good yoga teacher friend I met on a trip to Nepal.
What’s your latest IDOL musical discovery?
SPRINTS ! I had the opportunity to see them live at Trabendo thanks to IDOL, and it was a great discovery. Their energy is insane!
Also, I’d say Kessoncoda, released on Gondwana, so good !!!
Clément Petit
What did you do before joining IDOL?
I was at Brige.audio, as a label & supervisors relations assistant. I worked on the Sync Hub, a sync marketplace for music supervisors. Thanks to an AI-based music analyzer, they can search for the music they need from over 100,000 tracks. My role was to integrate label catalogs and present this tool to supervisors to facilitate their day-to-day music research.
What is your current job title?
I’m an Assistant Rights Manager in the Digital Content Operations team. My main task is to protect our labels’ catalogs using the tools provided by the platforms (Youtube CMS; META Rights Manager, etc.). This protection ensures that the catalog is properly monetized, and that the rights holders receive their revenues.
What drew you to work with IDOL?
I had very good feedback from former IDOL employees. After touring the world of synchro, I was keen to discover a reputable distributor that insists on maintaining its independence. In this context, joining Rights Management at IDOL gives me the opportunity to develop in a position that puts the interests of artists first.
Can you share a personal anecdote or hobby that you’re particularly passionate about?
I have a particular fondness for video game music. I’m very happy to be able to support Ubisoft composers such as Jesper Kyd, Brian Tyler or the Disasterpeace catalog, who composed for the great Paradise Marsh, or Hyper Light Drifter (and even the cinema hit It Follows…). If you’re looking for good game OSTs: Chrono Trigger, Neon White, Journey, Ridge Racer 4…
What’s your latest IDOL musical discovery?
JIALING – FREAKY HORNS. With one foot in New York’s club scene and the other in Baltimore’s vibrant new wave, JIALING invites us back to a time when the days are getting longer ☀️
To quote his words, “You gotta be having fun, otherwise what’s the point?”
Ryan Van Agt
What did you do before joining IDOL?
I was on a gap year between my Master 1 and Master 2. During this year, I did a 6-month internship in the DSP Editorial & Partnerships department.
What is your current job title?
I’m currently DSP Editorial & Partnerships Assistant. My main responsibilities are to promote our catalog directly to music streaming platforms, while developing partnerships with DSPs operating in the MENA region, as well as with Qobuz France and VEVO.
What drew you to work with IDOL?
After a 6-month internship in the same department, I really wanted to continue the adventure while taking on new responsibilities. I particularly like the catalog and the artists we work with, as well as the atmosphere at IDOL.
Can you share a personal anecdote or hobby that you’re particularly passionate about?
I began to develop a passion for hardware synthesizers. I started producing on GarageBand, then Logic Pro X, using virtual synths exclusively. Recently, I acquired my very first hardware synthesizer: a Korg Volca FM2. While I was beginning to tire of always creating music behind a screen, I now spend hours experimenting, looking for sounds or patterns that really appeal to me, and all without turning on my computer!
What’s your latest IDOL musical discovery?
Bellboy, on microqlima, in particular the single ‘Opéra‘, which I find very well produced.
