New Entries: welcome Lisa, Léonie and Malena
IDOL wants to welcome our new employees to the group and help you get to know them a little better. In the spring of 2024, Lisa Boissoles arrived to support Label Management’s French and international teams, Léonie Liquard, a former Audience Development intern, returned to the team as a permanent member when a new position was created at the beginning of the summer, and Malena Donnet joined the team in September on a work-study program to assist our legal department.

What did you do before joining IDOL?
Before joining IDOL, I was a Project Manager for Intuitive Records, a label co-managed by Thylacine.
What is your current job title?
I’m Label Relations Coordinator & Physical Distribution Manager. My job is divided into two parts: on the one hand, supervision between the Label Managers and the various internal departments, while at the same time providing support for our labels. Secondly, I’m in charge of physical distribution, working alongside the labels and their Label Managers to manage release campaigns.
What drew you to work with IDOL?
Through my previous experience, I was able to work as a Project Manager for several labels with the IDOL team. I really appreciated the closeness we were able to establish and the way we were able to work hand in hand with this team. Above all, that’s what made me want to join IDOL: the pride and desire to make my own contribution to the development of this structure and to the service of independence.
Can you share a personal anecdote or hobby that you’re particularly passionate about?
I’m taking Djing lessons with a very good friend who set up the Parisian collective Discoquette. I’ve always loved digging since my early days in music with the Warp family, and I’m very happy to be learning alongside him and gaining more and more self-confidence through this exercise.
What’s your latest IDOL musical discovery?
UTO for their live energy and their sublime latest EP released by InFiné (my label of choice), which I listened to over and over again last spring, and NeS for the maturity of his lyrics and melodies.

What did you do before joining IDOL?
I joined IDOL after completing my Masters at HEC Paris in Creative Industries Management. I’d had a number of professional experiences in the cultural sector, both in France and abroad, and I wanted to continue my career in the industry I’m passionate about: music.
What is your current job title?
I’m an Audience Development Manager, helping labels define their digital marketing strategy. I enjoy talking to them, understanding their needs and contributing to the evolution of their projects.
What drew you to work with IDOL?
IDOL emphasizes independence and offers artists the freedom to express themselves fully. These values align perfectly with my vision of music and the role that professionals should play in supporting artists. What’s more, after a 6-month internship with the Audience team, which went really well and I enjoyed, I was keen to continue the adventure with IDOL.
Can you share a personal anecdote or hobby that you’re particularly passionate about?
For some time now, I’ve been getting into the habit of jotting down in a notebook all my little pleasures in life. Whether it’s the song of the cicadas in summer, the smell of dew in the early morning, or simply the pleasure of drinking a good cup of coffee, this writing exercise is very soothing and enriching. What’s your favorite pleasure in life?
What’s your latest IDOL musical discovery?
This year I’ve been listening a lot to Yin Yin – Mount Mastu‘s album, at Glitterbeat Records, especially the track ‘Tam Tam‘. It’s at the crossroads of disco, city pop and Southeast Asian psychedelia, and it’s a real gem!
Malena Donnet
What did you do before joining IDOL?
Before joining IDOL, I was studying Magister Law, Journalism and Communication in Aix en Provence. I’ve had several experiences in these fields; law firms, newspapers, television or radio, but never in the music sector.
What is your current job title?
I’m a legal assistant, so I’m involved in drafting contracts and endorsements signed between IDOL and labels, for both France and internationally. The legal department also has to pass on all the information in the contracts to the other departments and answer any questions they may have. It’s a work-study position, and at the same time I’m doing a Master 2 in Media Law at Panthéon-Assas.
What drew you to work with IDOL?
It was the opportunity to get my foot in the door of the music world, which I didn’t know at all before arriving. On top of that, I wanted to work in a company on a human scale, with a good working atmosphere, people who are passionate about what they do, and with a caring attitude.
Can you share a personal anecdote or hobby that you’re particularly passionate about?
I’ve been playing the piano since I was 8. I was more classically trained, but my goal is to learn all the Studio Ghibli film soundtracks. For the moment, I can only play Spirited Away, the music from Chihiro’s Journey. Otherwise, I do a good imitation of the tortoise.
What’s your latest IDOL musical discovery?
K.O.G! I discovered him when he came to do a session at the office.
