Upcoming releases

Jazzy Bazz – January 21
After the success of Private Club with EDGE and Esso Luxueux, french rapper Jazzy Bazz is back with a new solo album, Memoria. It features many talented lyricists like Nekfeu, Alpha Wann, Josman, Edge, Robdbloc and Laylow.

During the first week of the release, the album reached #1 on the French Top MidWeek chart, #4 on Spotify’s Global Top Album chart, and ended up #1 on the official French Charts.

Hania Rani – January 21
The Polish pianist finally releases her Live from Studio S2 on Gondwana Records. In February 2021, Hania Rani was invited by the Berlin Film Festival to record a live set. The video of this performance reached 3 million views, which motivated the label to release the recording on vinyl, and make it available for streaming and download. All concert dates are on her website..

Zombie Zombie – February 4th
The trio Zombie Zombie is back with a new album Vae Vobis, which marks their arrival in the Born Bad Records catalog after 15 years with Versatile. The trio, composed of keyboardist and saxophonist Etienne Jaumet and drummers Cosmic Néman and Doc Schönberg, always looking for novelty, decided to sing in Latin this time. The tour starts on March 3rd..

Jacques – February 11
After a great comeback with a single released as NFTs, Jacques is getting ready to release his first studio album, LIMPORTANCEDUVIDE on Recherche & Développement. An album that according to Jack Canal+ should “expand the horizons of French pop”.

Vanessa Wagner – March 25
The pianist is about to release her new album Study of the Invisible, a prolongation of her work of discovery started on her first solo album Inland, released in 2019 with InFiné. She explores works by Philippe Glass, Bryce Dessner, Caroline Shaw and the Eno brothers. Vanessa Wagner is currently on tour in Europe.

In the spring, InFiné will release Kilumi, the first EP of their brand new signature Coco Em.

Groundation – May 13
The legendary roots reggae band is putting the finishing touches on their upcoming album, One Rock, on Baco Records. This tenth album has some nice surprises, including a track with The Congos, and the first single that brings together Israel Vibration and The Abyssinians! While waiting for the release of the album, a European tour starts in March.

Serge Ibaka
The year 2022 will also see Serge Ibaka’s project take shape. After 4 singles, including one certified platinum, the album #Art is almost ready. Each feat is more impressive than the last: Ninho, Tayc and Guy2bezbar, and most recently Diamond Platnumz and Mohombi.

Our labels’ anniversaries

Kitsuné Musique
In 2021, Kitsuné Musique returned to the IDOL catalog. This year, the cult label will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Among their latest releases it’s worth noting Khazali, Tim Ayre who released a track with Kraak & Smaak, and Matveï, who is included in the soundtrack of the Netflix series Emily in Paris.

Soundway Records
The British label has just started working with IDOL, but the teams are looking forward to the future releases of La Yegros, Lord Echo and Bomba Estereo. Founded 20 years ago, Soundway Records is famous for its compilations of African, Caribbean and Latin American music among others, much sought after by music diggers.

Erased Tapes
Robert Raths’ label is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. To start the year on a high note, Erased Tapes has announced an event for February 25th. Roedelius and Tim Story have prepared 4 Hands, a magical four-handed score, for the first time with Erased Tapes.
That said, the year 2021 was already quite busy with the noteworthy releases of Rival Consoles, Peter Broderick, Ólafur Arnalds, Masayoshi Fujita and a live album by Nils Frahm.

Heavenly Sweetness
The label will celebrate 15 years of activity in 2022 and start this year with the release of the album Hymne au Soleil by Laurent Bardainne & Tigre d’eau douce out January 28, including a track featuring Bertrand Belin. Last year was marked by the releases of Anthony Joseph, Bonbon Vodou, Pat Kalla & the Super Mojo and David Walters.

Local Action
The British label Local Action has just celebrated its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Local Action is throwing a party on March 26 at Corsica Studios in London with its flagship artists: India Jordan, 96 Back, Finn McCorry, Iceboy Violet and UNiiQU3.
Note that last November, the producer UNiiQU3 was named EQUAL artist of the month for Spotify US.

Vitalic
After recharging his batteries with a side-project, KOMPROMAT with Rebeka Warrior, Vitalic dropped a follow-up to Voyager last October. In 2022, Vitalic will celebrate 20 years of his career with a European tour and the release of the second part of his fifth album, Dissidaence.

L’Impératrice
L’Impératrice has a great year ahead! Nominated at the Victoires de La Musique, the band has also been invited to the prestigious Coachella festival. While waiting for this date in the Colorado desert, L’Impératrice is on a world tour for its second album Tako Tsubo.
